Caledon is a year 'round destination and winter is something special amongst our rolling hills and forests. Come and experience the peaceful stillness of winter in the country or try out a fun winter activity.  It's all up to you.  We are minutes away from the city, but there is a world of difference.

We invite you to come explore our trails, conservation areas and provincial park when the ground is blanketed with winter white snow and the only sounds you will hear in our forests are the sounds of the swaying of the trees and your snowshoes stepping on the soft snow under your feet.

Bring your own snowshoes to choose your destination but if you don't have any, don't worry, you can rent a pair to explore the Albion Hills Conservation Area.

skiingCross-Country Skiing

A traditional sport and great exercise, gliding across the snow in cross-country skis is a fun way to travel through the trails.

If you don't have skis, then Albion Hills Conservation Area will be pleased to help you out with a pair of their rentals.

A new and popular sport in the winter months is "Fat Biking", or biking on snow with fat tires.  It's fun for the whole family and Albion Hills Conservation Area is Caledon's fat biking destination.  They have great trails.

Please note: Fat Bike rentals are not available this 2020-2021 winter season.

horseback ridersHorseback Trail Riding

Popular throughout the year, horseback riding is especially nice in the winter months riding through the fresh fallen snow and the stillness of crisp winter air.

Teen Ranch is the place to go in Caledon for trail riding from September to June.

Once you have experienced our winter activities, you will want to warm up in one of our restaurants, cafes and bistros.  Caledon's entrepreneurs, farmers and artisans all work together to serve you local produce and meat, fresh artisan breads and hand made preserves.  You will be glad you tasted their innovative creations and will go home with lots to talk about.

If you are looking for some warmer options Caledon has some great places to find treasures, whether it's hand created or an heirloom find.
