Your Caledon Explorer Personality: Culture Connoisseur

For the art lover who strolls through galleries, seeks out murals, and isn’t afraid to get hands-on with a brush or pottery wheel.

Alton Mill Arts Centre

Just a few short minutes from the RBC Canadian Open, you’ll find the Alton Mill-a historic mill transformed into a hub of creativity. Wander the shops and art galleries, where you may find your next masterpiece for your home or unique local clothing. Outside the mill, take a look into the studio of Blacksmith Jason Duclos-creating tools, sculptures and jewelry. Next, enjoy a coffee while looking over the Mill Pond or waterfall to feel pure serenity. Back inside in the artist studios upstairs, classes and workshops are available. Sign up for pottery, painting or drawing to learn a new skill and unleash your creative side.

Paul Morin Gallery

Also located in Alton, take a visit to Paul Morin Gallery. Once known as Alton Town Hall, Paul purchased this historic stone and brick building and turned it into his creative space. Paul is a talented artist, musician, photographer and illustrator. His work showcases scenic landscapes, waterscapes and amazing culture. A visit to the gallery offers a unique glimpse into his artistic world and the beauty that inspires it.

Bolton Art Den

Situated in Bolton, the Bolton Art Den is a creative studio home to local artist Dania Piotti. The studio offers small, hands-on art classes such as Mandala Thursdays. Visitors can also browse a selection of art supplies for purchase, as well as admire Dania’s unique stained glass pieces and delicate stained glass botanicals. It’s a welcoming spot for both inspiration and artistic exploration.

Public Art Murals

The Town of Caledon has a growing public art program, where vibrant murals are being painted all over town. Chasing these murals is the perfect way to explore Caledon in a new way. Whether you’re walking the Caledon Trailway, driving through rural roads or grabbing a coffee in downtown Bolton, you may spot a mural. For full details on all art pieces and exactly where they are located, visit the town’s Public Art page.
